How Do I remove Mildew?

The best way to deal with mildew is to prevent it from forming by storing inflatables dry. Over time, Mildew can become unsightly and even cause structural damage to the inflatable.

We recommend storing inflatables dry after each use, because prolonged sun and exposure to the elements can cause damage.

If mildew does develop, use the following cleaning protocol:

  • Prepare a solution of 1 part laundry bleach and 9 parts water in a clean spray bottle.  Most spray bottles are 32 ounces, so this will require approximately 3 ml of bleach. NEVER MIX BLEACH AND AMMONIA OR OTHER CHEMICALS TOGETHER.  THIS CAN BE HAZARDOUS.
  • Wearing kitchen/cleaning gloves, spray the affected area liberally with the bleach solution.
  • A nylon scrub brush may be use as-needed to gently dislodge mildew.
  • Leave the solution for approximately 2-3 minutes.
  • Liberally hose off the solution.  It is important to remove all of the solution, as well as to dilute it as much as possible if the runoff is running into your lawn/patio/etc, so the solution does not cause damage or discoloration to your yard.
  • Repeat as needed, but only as absolutely required.
